Thanksgiving Frolf, Peach's first defeat and the Masters

Thin Air Frolf Club, Rossland - First of all on this day of giving thanks, I would like to give thanks to Frolf and all of the wonderful attributes it brings us. The thrills and excitement of a nice approach shot, the exhilaration of the disc hitting the chains, the ridiculous frustration of hitting the #@$%n light post on number 12 and the moments spent with friends that will be remembered for a lifetime. Thank you frolf.

Now that I got that off my chest, its time to rehash today's frolfing events. With the parking lot busting at the seams and back ups occurring on many holes, the Thin Air Frolf Club was buzzing with excitement. Brian and family were getting in a quick 9; Tucker (who turned 19 today, Happy B Day Tuck!), Peach and Fry were having a $2 stoke play match; Chunk and family joined forces with Knobber and family to snail through a round of 18; Michelle and her crew of outdoor enthusiasts were hooting and hollering at their kids and discs with many others out enjoying the wonderful Thanksgiving weather. Fry surprised even himself today shooting a -2, beating Peach and Tucker while setting his own personal best for the year. More importantly Fry and Tucker (EVEN) both got the best of Peach (+4) handing him his first career 18 hole gross score loss at the Thin Air Frolf Club. Fry and Peach carried on and played a second round with Peach reasserting his dominance with a -4 but needed 5 birdies on the back nine including birdies on 17 and 18 to get by the rejuvenated Fry. A special note must be made about BriBri's beautiful Birdie on 6 followed by a stellar par put on 7. Straight shooting there Bri. Chunk's fabulous 4some cruised around the course setting personals bests for longest round and most time spent on one tee box.

With Thanksgiving under our belts or over them in some cases, its time to focus for the final Rossland Frolf Association event of the season, THE MASTERS. The Masters is taking on a different format this year with the tournament being reduced to the best 3 out of 4 rounds and being played over the course of the entire week. Players must register their rounds on the blog and a virtual scoreboard will be established. Each round must be sanctioned by having at least 2 qualifying members present and all rounds will be played at the Campground Frolf Course. The Masters will be a spring tournament next year so this is the end of a long and confused era. If you are interested in The Masters please register with Chunk (0023). The entry fee is $5 with the bulk of the money going to the winner and the next 2 finishers. Defending champion Kevin "Fried" Johnson is primed and ready to throw his discs at the ground once again this year. A mandatory final round will be played on Sunday morning at 9am. All participants must be there to take part. This tourney has been played for the past 10 years with many of the original frolfers from the Rossland area taking part each time. Be a part of history and register today.
