Saturday's Battle at The Links of Eagle Ridge

On Saturday, eight of Rossland's best, met up the Links of Eagle Ridge for the largest showing of RFA members this season. The round started as usual with several of the players taking part in the ritualized pregame stretch and child round up. With 8 players to get off the first box and many eyes on each player's drive, the tee shots were far from stellar. Geezie went deep (as usual) and toyed with the water, with everyone else just trying to get their discs in play. Knobber's tee shot was the best of the bunch and as they say "They're off!" Geezie and newly self-crowned king of Swing, Tucker, jumped out to an early lead with everyone hovering just over par. Peach knew that he just needed to keep the leaders within 3 or 4 strokes and he would be able to challenge when the time came. Tucker's dominance was short lived. He struggled with the new plastic and even was overheard saying "These new discs suck!" He dropped back and was out of contention early. Chunk's recent struggles continued. He was left when it was a dog-leg right; he was deep when it was a lay-up, he layed up when clearly he should go for it... well you're starting to get the picture. Chunk was obviously rattled and the saftey meetings didn't help. Rawsthorne and Knobber were the "Steady Eddies" of the group. They were quietly hanging around par and if it wasn't for "Ok, where is everyone at here?" They may have covertly slipped into a challenging role. But once the scores were published and the Duo of Dads were exposed, the pressure was too much and they dropped to wayside. Tanner, the reigning RFA female #1, kept it together on the front nine. While the likes of Andre (nice to see the Bush Pig out on the Frolf course) and Tucker were several strokes over par, Tanner was smoothly playing to a +1. Unfortunately for the Michelle Wie of the Frolfing scene, the wheels came off and a few triples screwed the pooch for the overall score. All that is left is to find out how this debaucle ended. Well here it is: Chunk blew up, Tucker bounced a roller into the bike park, Andre was trying to plant and replant trees everytime one was in his way, Geezie's bro was learning the ropes, the Dads ended up above par, and Tanner was a girl... where does that leave us? Oh ya Geezie and Peach... Let's just say the crafty veteran (Peach) smoothly cruised along to a -3 and the victory, while Geezie's booming drives resulted in little more than salvaged bogeys and broken hearts...

A little foreshadowing of the beat down that the Fruitman is going to put on all of you!

Tucker and Fry battle it out @ the campgrounds. Windy conditions, hot putting, tied at -6. Tucker blows a tire on last three holes. fry finishes -4 , tucker-2.
Peach- congrads on the house, how about a quickie (door opens) at the campgrounds around 10:30-11. I think we will be playing black jack exclusively soon, maybe we should rock the grounds while we still can.
fry.

Is this who we look like?

New Kid on the Block

I also took down the 3 of the top 4 seeds seeds back to back to back. Stomps Fry with a 3 shot win and hammers Geeze by 5 strokes to retain the 3rd tag. Damn........

Tucker gets called into work tomorrow. sorry guys. im out for blackjack. you'll have to wait to steal my number one tag, im mean 3rd tag. sorry im getting ahead of myself. not really.

Hail the new "Queen" or king...

In a recent surge of top notch play, Tucker has established himself as a force to be reckoned with on the Rossland Frolfing scene. His past rounds of -3 then -4 have grabbed him the 3 seed overall and honours on the first tee. His play might look a little unorthodox (wobbly flick on the 3rd, S bend on the 16th) but the scores don't lie. Tucker recently was heard saying "I'm just feeling comfortable with all of my discs." He was also heard saying "...no, no the rash is clearing up and I can sit for longer periods of time now!" Regardless of the health issues, woman problems and wobble on the flick, Tucker is here to play.

Oh and Chunk was +7 with 4 to play and left saying "I don't care about this stupid game, Jenn said I've got to be home at 6.30 pm, so I quit!"

Note: Fry, Tucker and I are heading to Black Jack tomorrow to break that shit in. Call one of us to get in on the action!

The Shank

Shank v. [Shang-k]
  1. to hit (a golf ball or shot) with the extreme heel of the club so that the ball goes off in an unintended direction; also : to kick (a football) in an unintended direction. Damn Johnson, you shanked your 9 iron.
  2. to throw a disc in the complete opposite direction than originally intended. Rowethorne shanked his drive on #1.
